Ahead of Tuesday’s UEFA Champions League first knockout round fixture, Eintracht Frankfurt goalkeeper Kevin Trapp has described Napoli and Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen as a dangerous striker.

Napoli will travel to the Deutsche Bank Park in Frankfurt where they will face last season Europa League winners in the first leg of their UEFA round of 16 encounter.

The Italian Serie A league leaders are the clear favourites to secure a first-leg advantage following an impressive group stage performance where they won their first five matches compared to the Germans who fought back on Group D’s final day to snatch second spot. The pair now contest the first leg of a tie which decides who will reach the quarter-finals.

Napoli are high on confidence, however, having been the best team in Serie A by some considerable distance.

Luciano Spalletti’s side have won 18 of their last 19 league matches and have only lost once in the league all season – to second-placed Inter, in their first game back after the World Cup, while Osimhen has racked up 18 goals in his 19 top-flight appearances.

One of the most in-form strikers in the world at the moment, the Nigerian has only scored one goal so far this season due to an injury that saw him miss a handful of games in the prestigious clubs’ competition.

His devastating form in the Serie A means he is going to be the man to keep an eye on when both sides meet today.

Speaking ahead of the game, the German goalkeeper praised Napoli’s excellent form but he was also quick to point out Osimhen, who he described as a dangerous man.

“Osimhen is very dangerous, but it’s not just him,” Trapp told OmaSports TV, as per Tutto Napoli.

“We’re talking about a strong team on the whole who are playing very well.

“We know them; they’re an excellent team. They have many points ahead of their pursuers, and this is a fantastic thing.”
