President, Arm Wrestling Federation of Nigeria, Samuel Jackson, has narrated how he narrowly escaped death on Tuesday after his car caught fire in Abuja, The PUNCH reports.

According to Jackson, the incident happened just a few minutes after he had stopped to buy fuel at a filling station on his way to a meeting in Abuja.

In a chat with The PUNCH, the federation boss said he drove back to the road after buying fuel but noticed that his Honda Pilot 2012 model wasn’t moving at the appropriate speed before it caught fire.

“I want to thank God for his mercy because everything happened so fast,” he said.

“I stopped at a filling station to buy fuel because I was heading for a meeting, I just noticed that the car wasn’t moving as it should and I decided to park. Immediately I parked, the car caught fire and I was trapped inside, but thank God we managed to open the door but the bonnet won’t open and that was why the car got burnt completely.

“I am at home and doing well but I am still surprised with how the whole incident happened so quickly.”
