Leao denies demanding huge Milan contract

Milan star Rafael Leao denies he has demanded €10m plus a hefty commission to extend his contract with the Rossoneri: ‘Fake news as usual.’

The Portuguese striker is in talks with the Rossoneri over a new deal. His current contract runs out in June 2024, but Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara began negotiations long ago.

Leao doesn’t usually comment on rumours about negotiations with Milan but has made an exception this time.

The Portugal striker has shared an article by Italian influencer ErFaina, who claimed Leao’s father had demanded a new €10m-a-year contract plus high commission. He wrote ‘Fake news as usual’, in Italian, denying the report.

Multiple reports in Italy, including the latest from Sky Sport Italia, claim Milan have offered Leao a new €7m-a-year deal including add-ons.

His father reportedly landed in Italy over the weekend and will soon meet the Rossoneri to continue negotiations.

Leao joined Milan for €30m in 2019 and has scored 35 goals in 137 games with the defending Serie A champions.
