U-20 W’Cup: Nigeria, Argentina rekindle rivalry

The Flying Eagles will face host and familiar foes Argentina in the round of 16 at the ongoing U-20 World Cup,PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

Argentina inspired by Lionel Messi had defeated Nigeria 2-1 in the finals of the 2005 edition of the competition.

The game will be played on Wednesday.

The two time finalist finished as the best runner up in Group D after losing 2-0 to Brazil in their final group game.

They had earlier defeated the Dominican Republic and Italy in their opening group games.

Should the Flying Eagles defeat Argentina, they will play the winner of Ecuador and South Korea.

In other round of 16 fixtures The USA will take on New Zealand on Tuesday by 6.30pm.

Uzbekistan faces Israel in another last-16 clash on the same day by 10pm.
On Wednesday, Colombia takes on Slovakia in the first clash.

Brazil will take in Tunisia while England faces fellow Europeans Italy at the same time.
Uruguay battles The Gambia and Ecuador will play South Korea.
