Four weeks after their 1-0 win over Kwara United in Ibadan, Group A leaders Bendel Insurance are back on the same ground to face the landlords, Shooting Stars, in one of the most anticipated match-day seven fixtures.
Having picked up two away wins in Uyo and Maiduguri, Insurance coach Monday Odigie and his players would consider themselves good travellers, especially when their hosts have struggled at home this season.
With three wins on the road this season, Benin Arsenal have fired reasonably scoring four of their nine goals this season away from home and are also yet to concede on their journeys.
Things were however plucky for them in their last game at home as they fired blank against Gombe United but remain unbeaten this season.
On the other hand, Shooting Stars haven’t looked convincing at home until their 2-0 win over Nasarawa United last week thanks to two first half goals by Samuel Ayanrinde to record their second win of the season.
Against a backline that is yet to concede this season, their task will of course seem difficult on paper, but 3SC will hope to replicate last week’s result and see what comes out of it.
While Shooting Stars have only scored three goals at home this season, they are also yet to concede at home and that same form will be needed to shut out their prolific visitors.
A win for Shooting Stars will see them move up from the mid-table to four points within the top spot, while Bendel Insurance will remain on top of the table regardless of the outcome.
