Stade Brestois 29 announced the arrival of Eric Roy as coach on Thursday. The 55-year-old technician has been hired until the end of the season.

Stade Brestois 29 have been looking for a coach for several weeks and have finally found their man, Roy.

The Brittany club announced that they had reached an agreement with the 55-year-old technician, who has signed a contract with Les Pirates until the end of the season.

Roy has been given the task of helping the club secure its top-flight survival; SB29 are currently 17th on the table and only two points behind the first safe team in AC Ajaccio.

After a long career as a player, including 349 games in Ligue 1, Eric Roy is now taking the reins of a senior team for the first time since his spell at OGC Nice (March 2010 – November 2011).

For this return to action, the man who was sporting director of Watford until July 2020 will be accompanied by the technical staff who have been in place at Brest for the past two months: Julien Lachuer (assistant), Bruno Grougi (assistant), Christophe Revel (goalkeeper coach) and Yvan Bourgis (physical trainer).
