Nigerian striker, Cyriel Dessers, was on target for Glasgow Rangers as he scored for the Gers who returned to the summit of the Scottish Premiership following a 3-1 win over Hibernian at Ibrox on Saturday, PUNCH Sports Extra.
Dessers restored Rangers’ lead seven minutes into additional time played in the first half after Myziane Maolida had equaliser for the visitors five minutes earlier.
The strike took the 29-year-old’s tally to 13 (17 goals in 44 games across all competitions) in 27 SPL games this season.
With an Old Firm derby looming next weekend, Phillippe Clement’s side are two points ahead of Celtic, who will have played a game more when they travel to Livingston on Sunday.
They will be banking on the Nigeria international to continue his rich vein of scoring form in the derby.
In the Bundesliga, Nathan Tella came off the substitute’s bench to provide an assist for a 91st-minute Patrik Schick winner as Bayer Leverkusen produced a dramatic comeback to avoid their first defeat of the season and claim a 2-1 win over Hoffenheim on Saturday.
Robert Andrich scored for the league leaders in the 88th minute to cancel out Maximilian Beier’s opener.
The hosts were not done yet as the turnaround was completed in stoppage time as Patrik Schick was in the right place at the right time to get on the end of Tella’s cross and to secure a 23rd win in 27 league games. They are now in 39 consecutive games unbeaten this season the most for any German team ever.
Leverkusen are 13 points clear of Bayern Munich, who lost 2-0 to Borussia Dortmund. They are on course to claim their first league title with just seven games left to go this season.
In the Premier League, the trio Alex Iwobi, Calvin Bassey and Ola Aina failed to record wins with their teams in England on Saturday.
At the City Ground, Aina played for 84 minutes in Nottingham Forest’s 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace. Harry Toffolo replaced him. The game was Aina’s 15th EPL game of the season and he has scored once so far this term.
Iwobi’s 245th EPL game ended in a dramatic draw as Fulham were held to 3-3 by Sheffield United on Saturday. Iwobi played for 74 minutes before he was replaced by Tom Cairney who was named the most valuable player of the match for his impact.
Bassey on his part, was cautioned in additional time of the encounter.
In Italy, Ademola Lookman came on for Gianluca Scamacca in the 64th minute as Atalanta thrashed Napoli 3-0 in Serie A game on Saturday as the Italian champions lost further ground in the race for Champions League qualification.
Goals from Aleksei Miranchuk, Scamacca and Teun Koopmeiners gave the La Dea their first league victory in five games as sixth-placed Atalanta moved up to 50 points.
Meanwhile, Osimhen will also miss the next Serie A game after he accumulated his fifth booking of the season.
He was booked for dissent to underline his frustration on a day. Napoli’s wretched campaign continued as they were outclassed in front of their fans.
He will therefore miss next week’s trip to Monza as he serves out a one-match ban for accumulating that number of cautions.
Napoli are seventh, five points behind having played a game more.
