• Mbappe, Haaland joint-first, Kane fourth
Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has been ranked as the third most valuable striker in the world, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
This is according to football news, transfer rumours and statistics medium, Transfermarkt, in their latest update on the strikers in the world.
Napoli forward Osimhen is ranked third behind only Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland on the list of the most valuable strikers.
Norway and Manchester City striker Haaland is joint-first with France and Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappé as they are both most valuable players and strikers in the world valued at €180m.
Haaland was valued at €170m in January but saw a €10m increase after winning the treble and claiming the golden boot in his first season in the Premier League. Although, he and Mbappe are the same value, he is put in the first spot by virtue of being younger than Mbappé by two years.
It is no surprise that Osimhen takes number three spot as he became Serie A’s Capocannoniere in 2022/23, scoring 26 goals in 32 appearances and playing a crucial role as Napoli won their first Scudetto in 33 years.
Osimhen is therefore the outright highest ranked striker in Africa and in the Serie A as Italy and Inter’s Lautaro Martinez takes the fifth spot valued at €85m while Egypt and Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah is valued at €65m.
In fourth place is Harry Kane (England/Tottenham) with a value of €90m and in joint-sixth Kolo Muani (France/Frankfurt) and Christopher Nkunku (France/Chelsea)are valued at €80m.
Gabriel Jesus (Brazil/Arsenal) valued at €75m, Alexander Isak (Sweden/Newcastle), and Dusan Vlahovic (Serbia/Juventus) both valued at €70m complete the top ten.
