Former AC Milan and England coach, Fabio Capello, is impressed with the performance of Victor Osimhen and Erling Haaland and believes both strikers share a lot of similarities.

It has been a remarkable season so far for the two strikers as they both equalled long-standing records in their various leagues.

For Osimhen, the 2022/23 season will be one to remember, after scoring 28 goals in 35 appearances and playing a crucial role in helping the Partenopeans to their first Scudetto since 1990.

With 23 goals in the Serie A this season, Osimhen has broken Samuel Eto’o’s record for the highest-scoring African in a Serie A season. Also, he has shattered George Weah’s record for the highest-scoring African in the league’s history.

In the English Premier League, Haaland has been a nightmare to defenders in his first season.

The Norwegian striker has scored 51 goals in 47 appearances for the Premier League champions and in the process, he broke the record for the highest goals scorer in a single season in the Premier League with 35 goals.

Reacting to the two strikers’ impeccable form this season, the former England boss said they are similar.

“I don’t think Haaland is under pressure, because he has anger inside,” Capello told Sky Italia per Napoli Magazine.

“He lives for goals. Osimhen has the same thing, they live for this. They fight, they want to win, they help their teammates and they transmit this determination that makes you win games.”
