Club Brugge Manager Carl Hoefkens has named Nigerian summer signing Raphael Onyedika in his squad to face Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen in the UEFA Champions League group stage opener on Wednesday.
Onyedika joined Brugge after the Belgian champions splashed €10m to sign him from Danish team FC Midtjylland this summer.
The 21-year-old was on the pitch for 61 minutes for his new club and created an assist as Brugge beat city rivals Cercle 4-0 in the Brugge Derby win on Friday.
Onyedika played in the qualifying rounds of the competition last season with former club Midtjylland.
The Belgian champions will hope to continue their streak of excellent performances in the Champions League.
Club Brugge were drawn alongside Bayer Leverkusen, Porto and Atletico Madrid in Group B and welcome the Germans to the Jan Breydelstadion – Bruges stadium.
Club Brugge are third on the Belgian Pro League table with 16 points from seven matches, five points behind leaders Antwerp, who have won their first seven matches.
The Blue-Black have won five games, drawn one and lost one in the Belgian Pro League, scored 17 goals and conceded seven goals.
