Southampton coach, Ruben Selles, has revealed that striker, Paul Onuachu is fit for play against Nottingham Forest on Monday, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
The former Genk striker was not part of the Saints squad that lost 3-1 away at Newcastle last Sunday due to discomfort in his knee.
But speaking ahead of the game at the City Ground, Selles revealed Onuachu has ready to play – barring a late setback.
“Paul Onuachu is fit,” Selles said.
“He came back to training this week and if nothing happens between now and Monday, he will be selectable for the game.”
There is no guarantee that Onuachu will have a role in the meeting with Nottingham Forest regardless of his fitness with the Nigerian struggling for regular opportunities since his January move from Genk.
Also, the striker is yet to score for the relegation-threatened side since his arrival in January.
