Super Eagles striker, Peter Olayinka, is stalling on a new deal to stay with Czech champions Slavia Prague, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

Olayinka, who still has a year left on his contract with Slavia, has scored twice in four appearances for the club in the new season.

Our correspondent learnt that Slavia’s new deal for the forward didn’t meet his expectations and his refusal not to accept it has further fueled speculations that he is set for a new adventure elsewhere.

“An offer is on the table for him to sign but they must meet our demands as well just as we are prepared to do same with them,” one of his representatives, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told PUNCH Sports Extra only.

The former 36 Lion star has been variously linked with clubs across Europe, from Fenerbahce in Turkey to even the Premier League.

The 26-year-old Olayinka joined Slavia in the 2018/19 season from Belgian club KAA Gent for over €3m, but his market value has now more than doubled to €6.5m, according to Transfermarkt.

Olayinka was part of Nigeria’s squad to the delayed 2022 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon, where the team crashed out in the round of 16 following a 1-0 loss to Tunisia in Garoua.
