The President of Nigeria Mixed Martial Arts Federation Henry George has lauded Nigerian woman police fighter, Juliet Ukah, for emerging as the latest African EFC Mixed Martial Arts champion.

Ukah extended her winning streak in the competition as she dominated South Africa’s Crystal Van Wyk in the strawweight clash as she won the EFC 102 on April 14.

The Nigerian police officer left scars on Van Wyk’s face before winning the fight by unanimous decision. Ukah now has her sights set on the strawweight title that is currently held by Alice Ardelean.

NMMAF President Gorge on Monday hailed UKah over her victory at the championship and also told The PUNCH that the NMMAF was scouting young girls interested in the sport.

“I want to salute the efforts of Juliet at the EFC 102 last month where her ability gained her the win over her opponent. It is a testament to her hard work and ability that she was able to strongly dominate the fight.

“The NMMAF is looking out for other talented young ladies who are interested in the mixed martial arts as we look to prepare for competitions in the nearest future,” George told The PUNCH.
