The Nigeria Football Federation and Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen have sent birthday greetings to Victor Boniface who turned 23 years old on Saturday, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
Boniface has been impressive since joining Leverkusen from Belgian club Union Saint Gilloise in the summer for €20m.
He has scored in all the three competitions he has featured in for Leverkusen this season with 10 goals and seven assist from 16 games in the Bundesliga while in the Europa League, he has bagged four goals and provided one assist in five games and in the DFB-Pokal, he has scored two goals in two games.
The Nigeria international has also won all five Bundesliga Rookie of The Month awards on offer this season taking the prizes for August, September, October, November, and December.
Boniface and countryman Nathan Tella’s performance helped Bayer Leverkusen finish the first half of the season as honorary “winter champions” for the first time since the 2009/10 campaign after their home clash with VFL Bochum.
The NFF wrote on their X handle celebrating Boniface, “Happy birthday to @NGSuperEagles forward, Victor Boniface.”
Also Leverkusen sent their greetings via their X handle with a post of Boniface with the caption, “Happy Birthday Victor Boniface!”
On his own X account, Boniface posted three pictures and captioned it, “Big 23.” with a birthday cake emoji.
Boniface is in the Super Eagles’ 40-man provisional squad for the Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.
