NCL to revive University Sports

The Nigerian College League has begun plans to revive University sports bringing together football, community, and academic aspirations in an initiative that transcends the boundaries of collegiate sports.

The inaugural match played on January 16, 2024 at the University of Lagos sports complex, witnessed a spectacle of community unity as students, alumni, and enthusiastic fans from Unilag and Babcock University converged to watch the football game between both schools.

The scoreboard painted a vivid picture of the intense battle as Unilag emerged victorious with a 4-2 win. NCL showcased a commitment to the beautiful game by organising the inaugural game.

Doyinsola Omotosho, Unilag’s star striker, became the maestro of the match, scoring a dazzling brace and earning the well-deserved title of Man of the Match.

His performance wasn’t just a celebration of goals; it was a preview of the exceptional talent NCL aims to cultivate and showcase on the national stage.

Beyond the pitch, NCL is on a mission to revolutionise college football in Nigeria as the league envisions a future where sports fosters community and school pride.
