Amid pressure from clubs interested in getting the services of Napoli striker Victor Osimhen for the 2023/234 season, club president Aurelio De Laurentiis is considering increasing his valuation to €160m, as reported by Calciomercato.

The 24-year-old Nigeria international has a price tag of €150m and has three years left in his contract at the Stadio Amando Maradona.

Osimhen is enjoying one of the best moments of his career with Napoli this season as he is currently the highest goal scorer in Serie A with 23 goals from 30 appearances.

Osimhen has been linked with the world’s biggest clubs, including Manchester United, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, Liverpool and Chelsea following his blistering form since he joined the Italians three years ago.

He was signed for €75m plus add-ons from French side Lille in September 2020 and is under contract until June 2025.

De Laurentiis has assured fans that he has no intention of selling the former Lille star and is making plans to increase his €4.5m annual pay and place a fresh buy-out price to €160m to put off prospective buyers.

“Victor Osimhen, the Nigerian striker is in great demand on the market with offers of engagement doubled compared to the €4.5m a year that he currently receives from the blue club,” as quoted by Calciomercato.

“Osimhen is linked to Naples, but the temptation to go and earn much more abroad exists and is real.

“That’s why Aurelio De Laurentiis is studying a counter-move, the idea would be to propose a renewal with a rich salary adjustment and the inclusion of a release clause worth at least €160m.

“A solution that could guarantee the permanence of the strong Nigerian striker in the Blue shirt for at least another season.

“Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Monaco and PSG are ready to enter the operational phase for Osimhen. At the moment no official offers have been presented yet, but De Laurentiis has very clear ideas in mind: Victor won’t move for less than €160m.”
