Napoli are desperate to sell Victor Osimhen this summer, with rife that their president Aurelio De Laurentiis is ready to offer Paris Saint-Germain a slight discount on his €130m release clause, Sunday PUNCH reports.
The former Serie A champions want to use the money from his sale to fund reinforcements for Antonio Conte’s new project. However, no club have matched Osimhen’s release clause, delaying Napoli’s pursuit of Chelsea outcast Romelu Lukaku, among other targets.
According to Corriere dello Sport, De Laurentiis is now willing to lower the asking price marginally to facilitate a deal with PSG.
The French giants are keen on the 25-year-old, who has reportedly agreed to a five-year contract worth €14m net per season.
Napoli are anxious to resolve the situation quickly, especially after making it clear that Khvicha Kvaratskhelia was not for sale. The club aim to bring in Lukaku as soon as Osimhen’s transfer is completed.
Osimhen’s agent, Roberto Calenda, recently flew to Paris to help progress negotiations.
Meanwhile, Napoli’s directors are working hard to find common ground after their Castel di Sangro training retreat.
The potential sale of Osimhen could mark a significant shift in their transfer strategy as they look to reshape their squad under new manager Conte.
