Serie A champions Napoli are reportedly interested in signing Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku should Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen leave in the summer, according to a report on Fichajes.

The 24-year-old striker has done a remarkable job this season and his efforts helped Napoli win the Serie A after 33 years.

The Nigeria international has been linked with top clubs in Europe, including Manchester United, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea, and Real Madrid following his blistering form since he joined the Italians three years ago.

According to the report, Lukaku, who is on loan at Inter, is not willing to return to England after his loan deal expires and Napoli could take advantage of this situation to try to secure his signing should Osimhen leave in the summer.

It stated, “Lukaku is in excellent form after overcoming physical problems and Napoli could invest the money obtained from the sale of Osimhen, who has offers of more than 100 million euros, to secure the signing of the forward talent.

“Lukaku’s experience in Serie A makes him an attractive candidate for Napoli. His physical performance, finishing skills, and ability to create space would fit perfectly into the team’s playstyle.

“However, they will compete with other clubs interested in the Belgian striker, so they will have to offer a considerable sum to Inter Milan to secure his signing.”

Osimhen currently leads the chart for the Serie A Golden Boot award with 23 goals, three more than Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez, who occupies the second position.

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has placed a €150m price tag on Osimhen and the club could be tempted to accept the offer.
