OGC Nice sporting director Florent Ghisolfi has hailed Terem Moffi‘s decision to snub big offers from England and Olympique Marseilleto for the Allianz Riviera Stadium.

The Super Eagles striker reportedly secured a move to Nice for a transfer fee worth €30m from French Ligue 1 side Lorient on the final day of the January transfer after Nice made a seventh bid for the Nigeria international.

Ghisolfi claimed Moffi believed in Les Aiglons’ project and made the right choice to switch to Allianz Riviera.

“He believed in our project. He had the feeling that he was going to be happy and successful in Nice. Today he is like a fish in water. I really think we are the right club for Terem, ” Ghisolfi told Sport.fr

“He recovered the number 9, even if Marseille had promised him too. What we are building really corresponds to what we are looking for in terms of values.

“It was long and complicated. He always showed the conviction that he wanted to go to Nice. Sincerely, I ask everyone to be aware of what this represents.

“To have big English clubs and Marseille asking for you and with whom he already had an additional agreement! If he said ‘ok’, he signed the next day, when we did not yet have this agreement. It’s really a big signal sent to OGC Nice.”

The 23-year-old Nigerian striker is one of Ligue 1’s most prolific strikers, scoring 12 goals during the first half of the campaign, but has failed to score for his new team since he arrived on transfer deadline day last month.
