Samuel Chukwueze’s brilliant form for Villarreal this season has caught the attention of several clubs in Europe with AC Milan and Real Madrid reportedly keen to add him to their ranks this summer.
The 23-year-old has been in rich vein of form for Quique Setien’s side scoring 13 goals and provided 11 assists across all competitions this season.
According to Italian newspaper Calcio Mercato, the Rossoneri are desperate to bolster their squad with the Nigerian who has one year left on his contract.
The daily claim that the Rossoneri see Chukwueze as an ideal signing to boost their offensive play and also compete with the best teams in the world.
“Milan have targeted Villarreal’s right winger Samuel Chukwueze who is holding up monstrous numbers this season with 13 goals and 11 assists in 40 games played,” the report stated.
“The Nigerian born in 1999 is very popular with the Rossoneri executives and his contract expires in 2024. Milan can work with the Yellow Submarine for a hefty discount on the €80m release clause in the contract.”
Also, Real Madrid hope to land the former Diamond Academy player for a lower fee lesser than his buyout clause of €80m according to Spanish media outlet, Fichajes.
The Nigerian scored a brace and made an assist for the Yellow Submarines who further dented the Los Blancos hopes of defending their LaLiga title after recording a 3-2 win at the Bernabeu last Saturday.
Chukwueze joined Villarreal in 2018 and has made 217 appearances and scored 41 goals and 33 assists.
