AC Milan have reportedly reached an agreement on personal terms with FC Midtjylland midfielder, Rapheal Onyedika, despite the Danish club rejecting an initial offer of €5m for the Nigerian, PUNCH Sports Extra has learnt.

The Rossoneri have been chasing the 21-year-old for weeks, but have so far been thwarted by Midtjylland’s €8m valuation of the player, with only a few weeks remaining until the end of the summer window.

Midtjylland are in no mood to let go of their prized asset, in spite of Milan’s desperation to land the former FC Ebedei star.

“Onyedika has agreed to join Milan and has settled on personal terms with them,” a close source to the player informed PUNCH Sports Extra.

“But both clubs must agree for the deal to be concluded. We hope that happens because it will boost his career more.”

Onyedika was scouted by AC Milan’s technical director, Paolo Maldini, and director of football, Frederic Massara.

The young midfielder, who is known for his intelligence on the ball, replaced countryman Frank Onyeka, who joined Brentford last summer, in Midtjylland’s midfield.

Meanwhile, Milan are tracking Sheffield United’s Sander Berge as a possible alternative should the deal fall through, Sempremilan reports.
