According to an Italian online platform, Calcio Mercato Web, Serie A champions AC Milan are considering signing Super Eagles and Atalanta winger Ademola Lookman as a potential transfer target in the summer.

The Rossoneri will move for Lookman should Portuguese forward Rafael Leao leave San Siro amidst intense interests from potential clubs.

The Nigeria international has been an inspiration and rated as one of the best players for Atalanta since his arrival from Leicester City in the summer transfer window.

The versatile player only arrived in the Italian league in August and has settled down pretty quickly in Serie A.

Lookman flourished at Atalanta and can play as a striker, supporting striker and sometimes left and right winger.

The 25-year-old has been in fine form, for the Nerazzurri with seven goals and two assists in 15 Serie A appearances.

Milan will have to wait until the summer to replace Leao, but have placed the Nigeria winger as a potential transfer option.

The former Leicester City winger has a contract with Atalanta until 2026 and it may take a significant transfer fee to convince Bergamasca to sell one of their valuable players, whose current value is €20m.

Action returns in Serie A on January 4 as Atalanta travel to Spezia and Lookman will aim to continue his fine form in the second half of the season.

Atalanta are presently sixth on the Serie A table and are pushing for a top-four league finish.
