Fresh from helping Katsina United regain promotion back to the Nigeria Professional Football League, striker, Victor Mbaoma, has joined Armée Patriotique Rwandaise FC of Rwanda, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

Mbaoma signed a two-year-deal with the 16-time Rwandan league champions, who were founded in 1993.

The former Enyimba and Akwa United striker has been on the radar of his boyhood club, Remo Stars, as they to strengthen their squad ahead of their campaign in the CAF Champions League next season.

Remo coach, Daniel Ogunmodede, in an interview with our correspondent listed the striker as one of their prime targets ahead of the next season, but the Ikenne side will now have to look elsewhere for who to deliver the goals for them.

Despite his strong links with the club, he opted to move away from the NPFL for the umpteenth time, just after prematurely ending a two-year contract with Algerian side, Mouloudia Club Oranais.

The 26-year-old was the joint top scorer in the NPFL with 16 goals when he signed for the Algerian side June last year.

Mbaoma’s prowess has never been in doubt as he scored four goals in three games for Katsina during the just-concluded Nigeria National League playoffs, helping the club return to the topflight just after a year in the second division.
