According to a Ukranian publication, Dynamomania, FC Shkupi forward Sunday Adetunji has caught the attention of Dynamo Kyiv and could be set for a big-money move in the summer with the Ukraine’s most successful club showing serious interest in the Nigerian.
Reports emerged that the 16-time Ukranian champions had the former Rivers United man scouted during his side’s 4-0 win over Lithuania’s Zalgiris in a friendly match on Saturday, a game where the forward scored a hat-trick.
Dynamo are desperate in the market for attacking reinforcements in the summer and have identified the 25-year-old as an ideal target.
Currently valued at €600,000, Adetunji only joined Shkupi in August 2021 after spending years playing for Rivers United, Abia Warriors, Plateau United and Lobi Stars in the Nigerian Professional Football League.
His first season at Shkupi was, however, spectacular as Adetunji’s goals fired the club to their first-ever league title.
The forward has scored 26 goals and recorded another 10 assists in 49 games for his new club.
Late last year, the Lagos-born forward was named the best foreign player in the Macedonian topflight.
Prior to his move from Nigeria, Adetunji, who spots dreadlocks, scored a remarkable 38 goals and his brilliant performances in the league earned him an invitation to the national team, making his Super Eagles debut in a friendly against Mexico in July 2021.
