Edwin Kibet of Kenya has won the 2023 Access Bank Lagos City Marathon with a time of 2:14:14 seconds.
Kibet finished the 42km race in 2:14:8 seconds to claim the grand prize of $50,000.
The 2023 Access Bank Lagos City Marathon was keenly contested by 50,000 runners including local and international participants jostling for $500,000 cash prize.
In the female category, Alemenseh Guta of Ethiopia, emerged the winner.
The race began at 7:00 a.m on Saturday at National Stadium, Surulere, with Minister of Youths and Sports Development, Sunday Dare, on the sidelines for a start.
