Alex Iwobi’s continued superb run of form for Everton has seen him named among the most outstanding players in the Premier League so far this season according to BT Sports.

BT Sports made this known in a tweet beneath a picture of their picks on Saturday.

Iwobi who was on target for Nigeria in their 2-2 friendly draw against Algeria’s B team in Constantine on Friday was named alongside Manchester City duo Erling Braut Haaland, Kevin De Bruyne, Arsenal trio Gabriel Jesus, William Saliba and Garbiel Martineli, Tottenham’s Dejan Kulusevski, Leeds Brenden Aaronson and Fulham’s Aleksandar Mitrovic.

The Everton midfielder – who has been nominated for the EA Premier League Player of the Month for September – leveled scores for the Eagles in the second half when the ball fell to him 25 yards out and he side-footed his shot into the right-hand corner.

It follows Iwobi’s player-of-the-match display for the Blues on Sunday, when he provided the assist for Neal Maupay’s second-half winner in the 1-0 victory over West Ham United at Goodison Park.

Meanwhile, former England goalkeeper, Paul Robinson insists Iwobi is playing some of the best football of his career at Everton as he enters talks to extend his stay at Goodison Park.

Robinson, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed Toffees boss Frank Lampard is getting the best out of the 26-year-old in his new role for the club.

According to the Liverpool Echo, Everton have opened contract talks with Iwobi – who has become an integral part of Lampard’s side.

Osimhen’s current deal is set to expire in June 2024.

“I like him. I like his versatility,” he said.

“His performances have been outstanding. He’s shown that he can play off the left, off the right, he can play centrally.

“I think you can see that Frank Lampard is getting the best out of him right now.

‘He’s playing some of the best football of his career right now.”

Iwobi signed for Everton in 2019 from Arsenal for a reported potential fee of £34m.

He is set to return to international action on Tuesday night with another friendly against Algeria first team.
