Nigerian striker, Imade Osarenkhoe, will earn N10m monthly salary at United Arab Emirates side, United FC, after joining from NPFL side Bendel Insurance, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
Osarenkhoe signed a three-year deal with an option of another year after successfully passing a medical at the club on Monday.
The 22-year-old striker, who scored 10 goals across all competitions for Bendel Insurance last season, will be unveiled by the club on Tuesday.
“It is a good deal for him (Osarenkhoe) and both parties and we hope he continues to score more goals there in the UAE,” a source close to the player informed PUNCH Sports Extra.
Osarenkhoe’s move comes after another Nigerian forward Obande Williams joined another UAE side, Gulf United FC, on a two-year contract.
His departure comes as a huge blow to Insurance, who face a herculean task in their second leg second preliminary round of the CAF Confederation Cup clash against RS Berkane on Friday.
The striker was on target in the first leg in Benin, where Insurance played out a 2-2 draw and was also on target in their earlier Confederation Cup clash against ASO Chlef.
Osarenkhoe also scored the winning goal in Insurance’s Federation Cup final victory against Rangers last season, their first FA Cup triumph in 43 years.
