Defender, Leon Balogun has vowed to bring a calming influence to his new team Glasgow Rangers, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

Following a season with English Championship club, Queen’s Park Rangers, Balogun rejoined the Gers where he won the Scottish Premier League title in 2021 and played a crucial role in lifting the 2022 Scottish Cup before departing the club on a free.

“I’m happy and grateful to get the privilege to wear the colours again,” Balogun said.

“I didn’t expect it, but there was not too much to think about really. Everybody knows how much I love this club.

“I think one main thing the manager likes about me is obviously I have some experience.

“What he always said to me is he really enjoys my calming influence on the team and the people around me.

His calming presence not only benefits his teammates but also extends to those around him.

“I see my role to pass on my experience and lead and take some of the weight off their shoulders and take it on mine because I’ve been in situations before that they might face for the first time,” Balogun explained, underscoring his commitment to guiding and empowering his fellow players. His experience during his previous two-year tenure with Rangers has given him invaluable insights into the club’s ups and downs, motivating him to be a positive force within the team.

Balogun also credited Beale for his significant impact on the players, stating that the manager’s influence extends far beyond the football pitch.

“Man-management is more important than ever,” Balogun emphasised, alluding to a recent Deli Ali interview and highlighting the need to work on relationships to avoid unnecessary challenges.

“We’ve all just seen the Deli Ali interview. I think we can avoid these situations if we work on relationships. You can never make everybody happy, but you can try to make them feel respected and appreciated.”
