Highflying Inter Lagos FC set for unveiling

Nigeria National League side Inter Lagos are set to unveil their dynamic vision in the Nigerian football spectacle with a media launch on Wednesday in Lagos, months after debuting in the country’s second tier league, the club has announced.

Established in 2023, the club plays it’s NNL home games at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos and have enjoyed success in attracting a vibrant fanbase which is also propelling their ambition of promoting to the Nigeria Premier Football League.

In a statement signed by its media representative, Olufisayo Osindeinde, the unveiling will further cement the club as the pride of Lagos as their vision embodies the essence of the city as well as a community club that welcomes everyone from all walks of life.

Co-founder and CEO of Inter Lagos, Lanre Vigo, said the club’s position in the league has set a perfect tone for the unveiling of their vision.

“Formally launching now is not just about unveiling our club to the public; it’s about showcasing the culmination of our dedicated efforts in establishing the internal structures essential for our success,” Vigo said via the statement.

“The event on Wednesday will mark the convergence of our vision, passion, and readiness to embrace the world stage, conquering one hurdle at a time. We believe it’s the perfect time to invite our community and fans to join us on this exhilarating journey towards greatness.”

Vigo, is also one of the founders of leading athlete management company, Plug Sports, boasting a glowing list of national and global sports stars including Super Falcons stars; Asisat Oshoala, Uchenna Kanu, Michelle Alozie and their Super Eagles counterpart Henry Onyekuru as well as women’s 100m hurdles world record holder Tobi Amusan.

Inter Lagos have won their last five matches in the NNL and are currently second in Conference B table of the 2023/24 league with 16 points after nine matches.

They began life in the second-tier league with three straight defeats but haven’t looked back since their 1-0 away win over One Rocket FC in December. Since then, they have beaten Gateway United 1-0 at home, Tradesafe FC 4-2 away from home, Warri Wolves 4-1 at home and Solution FC 1-0 away from home.

Supporters and stakeholders in the club are also excited as the occasion promises to unveil a vision that will chart a course for a future defined by excellence, inclusivity, and hard work in Nigerian football.
