Former Kwara United and Super Eagles B midfielder, Afeez Nosiru, is basking in the euphoria of joining Greek first division outfit, Panetolikos FC from the Nigeria Professional Football league side, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

Panetolikos unveiled Nosiru on Saturday after signing the midfielder on a two-and-half-year deal.

“Panetolikos FC is pleased to announce its agreement with Afeez Nosiru,” the club announced via its Twitter handle.

It is understood that Nosiru had penned the deal before the end of last year, after spending two seasons at Kwara United where he also got a call up into the Super Eagles B for friendly games against Mexico, Ecuador and Costa Rica last year.

Nosiru also said the move was long-awaited.

“I feel so great and happy. I have waited for an opportunity like this which I believe will move me to the next phase of my career. I am already integrating with the team and I believe we will achieve greater things together,” Nosiru told PUNCH Sports extra.

During his stint with Kwara United, the former Niger Tornadoes player helped the club secure a continental spot after finishing 4th in the 2022 Nigeria Professional Football League.

He has since resumed training with the club but would have to wait further for his debut as he wasn’t included in the squad for their match-day 23 fixture against Lonikos.

Panetolikos are 9th in the Greek first division table with 24 points from 22 matches.
