Nottingham Forest are interested in signing Watford Nigerian striker Emmanuel Dennis on a season loan, with an option of a permanent deal, according to Sky Sports.

Dennis, who is valued at £20m, can play anywhere in attack.

Signed from Club Brugge last summer for £3.6m, Dennis was sensational for the Hornets in what was ultimately a disappointing campaign for the relegated side.

But the 24-year-old Nigeria international shone brightly, scoring 10 times and providing six assists in 33 league outings for the Hertfordshire outfit in the Premier League, but was unable to save the Hornets from relegation.

Speaking live on Sky Sports News, journalist Emma Paton said, “Nottingham Forest are interested in the Watford striker Emmanuel Dennis. Watford value Dennis at around £20m but we understand that Forest would prefer a loan with an option to buy and are deciding whether to formalise their interest.”

The Nigerian has been linked with a move to Aston Villa, Newcastle and West Ham.

Dennis scored his first international goal for the Eagles from the spot in the 90th minute as they mauled Sao Tome 10-0 in Morocco in a match-day two fixture of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in July.
