Qatar had cautioned fans to observe their rules for the duration of the month-long World Cup.

The Lusail Stadium in Qatar was sent into pandemonium after Gonzalo Montiel’s penalty confirmed Argentina as world champions.

Albiceleste played out to an enthralling three-all draw with France, forcing the game to be decided by post-match penalties.

In the midst of the celebrations, one female fan got swept up by emotions removed her shirt, as per a video on social media. Maybe this could be forgiven in other countries and other cultures, but as Daily Mail reports, the fan now faces jail time in Qatar

The Middle East nation was on the spot for a lot of ‘stringent’ rules before the World Cup began, notably refusing to bend its laws on the LGBTQ community, public displays of affection, and even alcohol.

Among its rules are those governing indecent or revealing dressing in public. The Argentinian fan went full shirtless to celebrate La Albiceleste’s first World Cup since 1986.

However, Qatari rules dictate that women should ensure their shoulders and knees are covered at all times.

Should the authorities decide to open legal proceedings against her, the fan would face time in jail or a hefty fine.
