Former teammates of Samson Siasia have consoled the retired Super Eagles striker following the recent death of his father, Pa Harrison Siasia, who passed away at 96.

Siasia recently held a prayer and celebration of life service at the Trem Church, Smyrna, Atlanta, Georgia, US.

Among friends of Siasia at the event were ex-Super and Flying Eagles vice captain, Paul Okoku, McMilan Ogbomo and patron of Enugu Rangers, Sir Benson Ejingu.

Also in attendance during the church service were Emeka Ikpa, Eddie and Peter Nosegbe, while ex-teammates and colleagues Chibuzor Ehilegbu, Nathaniel Ogedegbe and Godwin Odiye sent messages of support over the loss.

Femi Olukanmi, Alphonsus Akhahon, Dehinde Akinlotan, Taju Disu, Chibuzor Ehilegbu, Tarila Okorowanta, Manu Garba, Dahiru Sadi, Amaechi Otti, Edema Benson and Patrick Udoh were also some of Siasia’s teammates who sent their condolences.

Siasia expressed gratitude to his friends for rallying round him during his time of need.

“I appreciate all of them for turning out to attend my late father’s service of songs and thank all those who sent in condolence messages to wish my family well.

“I thank Paul Okoku, who rallied round to get my former teammates to show up for this special occasion. It meant so much to me. It felt like a reunion of sorts for us, although it was a service of songs for my beloved father,” Siasia said.
