Ex-Super Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh has labelled Unai Emery the best coach of this era following his impressive work since joining English Premier League side, Aston Villa, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

The Spanish coach joined the Villan in November 2022 from Villarreal.

His move to join the English was questioned by many owing to the fact that the English side were going through a torrid time winning just two league games and sit barely above the relegation zone.

The Spaniard took over from Steven Gerrard’s position at Villa Park and has since turned the fortune of the club around.

Aston Villa defeated Fulahm 1-0 on Tuesday to move to fifth on the log with 54 points, a big achievement for a team battling relegation some months ago.

Emery boasts some impressive records since taking over at Villa Park.

No team in the Premier League have won more points than his side in 2023 having won 36 points, two points more than Manchester City and four more than Arsenal.

His win on Tuesday also means his side are the first in the history of the Premier League to have scored in their first 20 games under a new head coach.

Reacting to the Spaniard’s outstanding records since joining Villa, Oliseh could not contain his admiration for the manager who has led the Villans to the fifth spot in the Premier League rankings.

“Extremely talented coach and, in my opinion, one of the best coaches of this era!!” Oliseh wrote in a tweet on Thursday.

Up next for Emery is a trip to Old Trafford on matchday 33 of the English league.
