It was an exciting time for students, staff and parents of Davebrook Schools, Makogi, Ogun State as the college marked its maiden inter-house sports competition at the Mountain Top University playground in Magboro, Ogun State, recently .
The one-day sports fiesta was well attended by parents and guardians, with the elementary and secondary students showcasing their sporting talents to the admiration of the guests.
Presentation by the taekwondo and ballet teams also added glamour to the occasion as the guests were treated to a beautiful display by the students.
The day began with the colourful march past from the participating houses – Yellow (St John), Blue (St James), Green (St Andrew) and Orange (St Peter) — with the teams showcasing the rich-culture of Nigeria.
To determine the eventual winners, the technical crew had to rely on the number of silver medals won to pick the overall champions.
At the end of collation, it was Green House were crowned champions with 10 gold, 12 silver and six bronze medals, while Orange House settled for second with 10 gold, nine silver and 14 bronze medals.
Yellow House came third with 10 gold, eight silver and eight bronze, with parents and guardians consoling the sobbing members of Blue House, who finished fourth with eight gold, nine silver and eight bronze.
Director of the school, Oluwaseun Adesida, said the enormous support from the parents and guardians contributed to the success of the event.
