Cycling: Saved City promises biggest sports event in Nigeria

Sports and Entertainment company, Saved City Magic Tour, in collaboration with Lagos State Cycling Association have announced the 8th edition of their cycling event that will take place between April 29-30 designed for kids between the ages of seven to 16 years.

The tour would feature categories such as Queen of Monsters, Last man standing and other fun activities.

Emerging winners of the competition, which is sponsored by itel, Fanmilk, Lasena, Lagos State sports committee, would go home with Laptops, Tablets and other prizes.

Addressing a press conference held at the Teslim Balogun Stadium to herald the tour, which would take place at Omole Estate Lagos, between 6-8pm, the firm’s Executive Director, Ikechukwu Agada, said security measures have been put in place to ensure no accident is recorded.

Agada noted that the idea behind the tour is to make cycling a legitimate and globally accepted event for children.
“There is going to be lighting effects like never before. It’s going to be in the evening and this is to awaken the sporting energy in children. It’s going to be the biggest sports event in Nigeria. We would create impressive lightening during the event.

“We have been doing this since 2017. We did it in 2017 and 2018. It was our first major indoor event. Between 2019 and 2020, we went on road race,” he said.

Director of Operations, Deborah Okiogbero said Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, representative of Minister of sports, Hon. James Abiodun, Richard Kasunmu and other dignitaries would be present at the event.

“We are still registering participants. Once you can ride, bring it on and you can also come live to the event to register and compete for different rewards. We decided to create something different to produce unique result,” she said.
