According to International Centre for Sports Studies Football Observatory, Nigeria international, Samuel Chukwueze, has been ranked 51st best attacking player in the world in terms of take-ons.
Not known for his goalscoring prowess since his breakout season in 2018, the Villarreal forward’s dribbling skills are something to behold and reason why he is currently one of the best dribblers not just in the Spanish Primera Liga but also in the world.
The 23-year-old Super Eagles star averages 1.5 dribbles per game.
The Nigerian has even gotten better since the Yellow Submarines appointed Quique Setien as manager after the departure of Unai Emery to Aston Villa in the English Premier League last summer.
In the latest report by CIES, which was published on their website on Wednesday, Chukwueze was ranked as the 51st-best player in take ons.
The ranking saw the Nigeria rated higher than Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes and Chelsea stars Raheem Sterling and Mason Mount.
He also sits above big names like Federico Valverde, Frenkie de Jong, Ferran Torres, Jack Grealish and Yannick Carrasco.
Meanwhile, Ousmane Dembele, Vinicius Junior, Kevin de Bruyne, Filip Kostic, Rafael Leao, Kingsley Coman, Kylian Mbappe, Sebastian Villa, Cody Gakpo, and Phil Foden make up the Top 10.
Also, OptaJose, world leader in sports data, recently listed Chukwueze among the top five prolific players in LaLiga since 2022.
He is one of the five players in the Spanish topflight to have reached double figures for both goals and assists since 2022 in all competitions.
