Chelsea are reportedly ready to offer Christian Pulisic and Kepa Arrizabalaga plus money for Napoli star Victor Osimhen, while Tanguy Ndombele will return to Tottenham in June.
The Partenopei are planning ahead after winning their first Serie A title in 33 years. The league’s leading scorer Victor Osimhen is one of the most wanted strikers in Europe and according to Il Corriere dello Sport (Saturday’s printed edition, page 2), Chelsea are ready to include Pulisic and Kepa in a player-plus-cash swap deal to lower Napoli’s €160m asking price.
However, the Blues won’t play in the Champions League next season, so clubs like Bayern, PSG, Manchester United and Newcastle – if they make the top four – have more chances to secure the striker’s signature, provided that the Partenopei agree to sell him.
Napoli will offer Osimhen a contract extension and the striker wants to play Champions League football in 2023-24, so he has the ‘last word’ reports the Rome-based paper.
Coach Luciano Spalletti has predicted a bright future for the Partenopei after being offered a two-year contract extension at the Stadio Maradona.
The Italian tactician is expected to remain in charge and will be looking for a replacement for Ndombele. Saturday’s printed edition of Gazzetta dello Sport (page 13) reports the 26-year-old will return to Tottenham at the end of the season.
Napoli are satisfied with the midfielder’s loan spell, but Ndombele is not a regular starter, so the Serie A champions won’t activate a €30m clause to make his move permanent in the summer.
