Nigerian comedian, Bright Okpocha, popularly known as Basketmouth, is beaming with pride as he enrols his son, Jason, in the prestigious Liverpool Football Academy in England, with Nollywood stars and others backing the teenager to shine at the European giants.
Doting father Basketmouth took to his Instagram page on Monday to share a video of his son’s arrival at the renowned academy.
The caption spoke volumes of a father’s hopes and dreams for his child, as Basketmouth wrote, “Go make daddy proud boy. @liverpoolfcchamps.”
Jason, 15, the only son of Basketmouth and his estranged wife, Elsie Uzoma, is set to embark on this exciting new chapter in his young life. With Liverpool Football Academy known for producing some of the finest football talents in the world, it is evident that Jason’s promising journey has just begun.
The comedian and his former spouse, Elsie, had three children together before parting ways in 2022.
Fans and well-wishers eagerly anticipate witnessing the rise of a potential football star under the guiding lights of Liverpool FC as they all joined Basketmouth in wishing Jason the best of luck in his football journey in the comments section of the page.

Comedian Helen Paul wrote, “Mutually beneficial initiative! May the rewards be bountiful.”
A Nigerian with the username, @favourite_of_ph predicts that Jason will reach the heights of Nigerian legend Jay Jay Okocha commenting, “Omo, na the next Okocha be this,” to which Basketmouth replied, “Na the first Jason Okpocha be this.”
