Middlesbrough are in talks to sign Brentford Nigerian midfielder Frank Onyeka on a season-long loan.
The Championship club are desperate to bolster their midfield options, following the exit of trio Marcus Tavernier, Martin Payero and James-Lea Siliki this summer.
With two days left to the close of the transfer window, Middlesbrough manager, Chris Wilder, is keen to sign three players – a defensive midfielder, a right-sided central midfielder and a striker, despite the arrival of Alex Mowatt from West Brom.
And according to Sky Sports, Wilder is keen to add the Nigerian midfielder – his primary defensive midfielder target – to his ranks.
Onyeka, 24, signed by the Bees for £8m from Midtjtylland last year, has struggled to make the step up to the Premier League, managing only 21 appearances.

He has only seen 10 minutes of action this term, after four games.
