Nigerian forward, Victor Boniface, has capped a fantastic first month at his new club, Bayer Leverkusen as he was named in the German Bundesliga Team of the Week, PUNCH Sports Extra reports reports.
The young talent stole the headlines once again last Saturday, delivering an impressive performance by netting two goals during Bayer Leverkusen’s thrilling 5-1 win over Darmstadt.
The Bundesliga Team of the Week, unveiled on Monday evening, prominently featured the Nigerian forward. He was listed in the attack alongside other standout players, such as VfB Stuggart’s Serhou Guirassy, and Takuma Asano.
The forward’s remarkable contribution of four goals and two assists has played a pivotal role in propelling the Bay Arena outfits to the top of the Bundesliga table.
As a result of his outstanding performance, he has been selected, along with his friend Gift Orban, to the Super Eagles’ squad for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualification match against São Tomé and Principe on September 10.
