Turkish side, Beşiktaş JK, are in a race to secure the signature of Nigerian striker Kelechi Iheanacho, who has also been linked with a switch to other English Premier League teams following the relegation of Leicester City, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

He has reportedly attracted interest from Everton, Burnley, and Nottingham Forest as Leicester City are leaning towards selling him before his contract expires at the end of next season.

While speculation has already linked Iheanacho with Nottingham Forest, fresh reports from TribalFootball reveal that Burnley and Everton have now entered the fray, expressing their keenness to secure the services of the former FA Cup champion.

Last season, the 26-year-old showcased his scoring prowess by netting five goals in the Premier League for the Foxes and also won the club’s Player of the Season award at the end of the campaign.

His credentials in England also include 18 FA Cup goals in 26 appearances which makes him Nigeria’s highest goal scorer in that competition.

Beşiktaş are however reported to be leading the race to sign Iheanacho as the Turkish giants have tabled an offer to Leicester City, according to reports.

Beşiktaş’s proposal entails a year-long loan agreement covering the player’s annual salary of €2m. The club’s search for a new striker has been amplified due to Cenk Tosun’s injury, further enhancing Iheanacho’s appeal to the Turkish outfit.

Iheanacho recently played a key role in Nigeria’s crucial AFCON decider, where he scored a late winner over Sierra Leone in Liberia to book Nigeria’s place at next year’s tournament in Ivory Coast.
