Following their interest in former U-23 forward, David Okereke, fans of Turkish giants, Beşiktaş, are running out of patience with the club due to their inability to complete any major signings so far this season, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

Beşiktaş are reportedly in talks with the forward, just a year after his move to relegated Italian side Cremonese.

Okereke becomes the second Nigerian to attract the interest of the 16-time Turkish Super Lig champions, after they were recently reported to be interested in Kelechi Iheanacho as well.

But despite the club’s expression of interest in different players, they are yet to finalise any deal and their fans are calling for a quick action on Okereke’s move.

“They get along with someone (a player) every day, but there is still no signature. I heard from a source two to three transfers will join them for preseason,” one of the fans, Sami Arslan, said.

Another fan, Ahmet Sakin also said, “Besiktas placed third last season because they didn’t sign properly. Go and spend money like crazy and fight for the title again.”

The Black and Whites finished third last season in the Süper Lig with 78 points, 10 points adrift of champions Galatasaray and have shown intent in bolstering their attacking options with the addition of the Nigerian forward.

Okereke joined Cremonese from Club Brugge last summer on a three-year deal, and scored seven goals in the Serie A. In all competitions, the forward registered nine goals and two assists in 38 appearances.

Cremonese are resigned to letting some of their players go and could demand a sizeable fee for Okereke’s services due to their financial status, which is a consequence of getting relegated to the Serie B and the fact that he just joined the club.

Okereke’s compatriot, Cyril Dessers, also departed the Italian club last week to join Scottish giants, Glasgow Rangers.
