Following a disappointing first season in the English Premier League, Nigeria international, Joe Aribo, has been handed a lifeline to revive his career with Turkish Super Lig giants, Besiktas interested in signing the midfielder, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
According to the Turkish newspaper Tavkim, Besiktas sporting director Ceyhun Kazanci is traveling to England to discuss the conditions of signing the former Glasgow Rangers star.
The Black Eagles have qualified for the second round of the Europa Conference League and are aiming to bolster the squad ahead of next season with the addition of the Southampton number 7.
Aribo struggled for game time in the English Premier League last term, starting 13 out of a possible 38 games in the division and was on the scoresheet twice.
The 26-year-old arrived at the St.Mary’s stadium with a huge reputation having won Rangers’ Young Player of the Year and Goal of the Season during his three-year stay in Scotland.
With the Saints getting relegated to the English Championship and the struggles of the dynamic midfielder in his first season in England he might be open to leaving.
However, Beşiktaş will have to pay a sizeable fee for his services because he has three years left on his contract.
