World record holder in women’s 100m hurdles, Tobi Amusan, on Tuesday ran a new season’s best of 12.47secs at the Ostrava Golden Spike Meet in Ostrava, Czech Republic, but it wasn’t enough to win the race.

Jasmine Camacho-Quinn won the race in a meet record of 12.42secs, beating Tia Jones, who came in second in 12.44secs, while Amusan finished in third place.

Amusan’s time was only good enough to set a new season’s best for herself, after she showed a glimpse of her record-breaking capabilities at a recent meet in Jamaica, where she breezed to a winning time of 12.57s.

The world record holder will now turn her attention to the Diamond League as she competes at the Lausanne Diamond League on Friday, June 30.

The 100m hurdles event in Lausanne will be Amusan’s first outing in the Diamond League this season.
