Aina to join Awoniyi, Dennis at Forest

Nottingham Forest are set to sign former Chelsea defender, Ola Aina, on a free transfer, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

The Nigeria international has Premier League experience having spent the 2020/21 season on loan at Fulham and is set to be the first addition to Steve Cooper’s squad this summer.

Aina will be excited to join his Super Eagles teammates Taiwo Awoniyi and Emmanuel Dennis at the City Ground.

The Torino man had struggled with form following a series of injuries that have reduced his playing time at the Stadio Olimpico Grande.

The right-back made 19 appearances and scored one goal in all competitions in the 2022/23 season.

He initially arrived at Torino on a season-loan loan deal in 2018 from Chelsea before the transfer was made permanent the following season.

Aina scored two goals and provided six assists across 111 appearances in all competitions for the Granata.

According to Italian transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, Aina is set to sign two year deal at Nottingham Forest which will also include an option for further season keeping him with the Tricky Trees till June 2026.
