International Boxing Association President Umar Kremlev will inaugurate Africa Boxing Confederation headquarters next month in Cameroon’s capital city Yaounde.
AFBC Secretary-General Andre Basile Kalong said today plans are at an advanced stage for the official opening of the office on February 15 in the city of seven hills.
“We’re now preparing for the arrival of IBA President for the inauguration of AFBC office,” said Kalong.
“Local authorities have done inspection tour of the building and approved our plans. This is a big leap forward in the improvement of professional management of boxing in Africa.”
All AFBC Board of Directors are expected to grace the auspicious occasion.
Regarding payment of Maputo prize money to the winning boxers, Kalong said, “Payment of prize money is the process, we’re waiting for some documents for other national federations then we remit the money to their respective accounts.”
