Napoli forward, Giacomo Raspadori, has underlined the influence of Nigerian striker, Victor Osimhen, to Napoli’s blistering run this season despite their UEFA Champions League ouster last week, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
Osimhen has recorded 26 goals and five assists in 31 games across all competitions, leading Napoli towards a long-awaited Serie A title in 33 years.
The Partenopei currently lead the Serie A standings with a 14-point gap and will seek to extend their lead at the summit and also complete a double over Juventus in Sunday’s Serie A fixture at the Allianz stadium on Sunday.
Speaking ahead of the game, Raspadori reserved plaudits for the Nigerian who has been the team’s leading scorer.
“He (Osimhen) is a great player and a very good person,” Raspadori told Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli.
“This is something that has led us to have these great results. When you deal with people who always put themselves at the disposal of their comrades, the collective result is easier to achieve.”
Osimhen’s contrct at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona is set to run until 2025, although various clubs will be keen to sign him immediately. PSG are looking for a push to win their first ever Champions League while Chelsea have been searching for an answer to their lack of goals.
