Abdulazeez Mohammed has resigned from his role as Kwara United head coach after watching his side suffer a fourth straight defeat in the Nigerian Professional Football League season, SUNDAY PUNCH reports.

Mohammed’s side lost 2-0 away at Nasarawa United in Lafia on Saturday.

Goals from King Osanga and Chinedu Ohanachom handed the Solid Miners the much-needed win on their return to the new Jos stadium, compounding the woes of The Harmony Boys with a win and two draws this season as well.

Over a week ago, amid disappointing displays, Mohammed was handed a two-match ultimatum by Kwara United management to overturn their team’s poor run in the NPFL or get sacked.

Speaking after his side’s defeat, Mohammed absolved his players or the club management of any blame for the team’s poor form.

“I have taken full responsibility, due to lack of results in previous matches,” he said.

“That is football for you. I wish the team best of luck in their remaining matches of the league.”

Kwara United currently placed eighth in the Group A standings of the NPFL with five points from seven games.

They will face Remo Stars in their next game Ilorin on Wednesday.
