Super Eagles duo Kelechi Iheanacho and Wilfred Ndidi are poised to make landmark appearances for Leicester City when they travel to Anfield to face Liverpool in a Premier League game on Friday (today), PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
Ndidi will hope to make his 220th appearance for Leicester City in the encounter.
The 25-year-old has played 219 games for the Foxes scoring 11 goals in total and making 13 assists since moving to Leicester from Genk for £17m in January 2017.
The game will also be his 177th EPL game since he arrived at the King Power stadium albeit scoring seven goals and providing nine assists.
Ndidi will hope to be recalled back to the starting line –up ahead of Boubakary Soumare and Nampalys Mendy as the Foxes bid to claim their sixth win of the season.
His compatriot, Iheanacho will look to make 180th EPL appearance in the encounter. The former Manchester City has notched 38 goals with 21 assists in English top flight division.
Restarting their Premier League campaign on Boxing Day with the visit of Newcastle, the Foxes hoped to carry on their good run of form at King Power Stadium, but were ultimately dispatched by a Magpies side, who climbed to second in the league standings.
An early penalty from Chris Wood was followed by strikes from Miguel Almirón and Joelinton, which settled the 3-0 scoreline on Filbert Way.
However, with Leicester’s next test only five days after, Thomas explained that the team see the trip to Merseyside on Friday evening as a chance of redemption.
“It’s a day to forget for us (the Newcastle match), we weren’t at it at all, and we know that,” he told LCFC TV. “With the Liverpool game coming up quickly afterward, it’s a real positive for us and hopefully we can bounce back and get a result.
